So Disappointed. Or will be.
My school band has a sort of mini-band called the Chamber Winds. It's (predictably) a chamber music band.
I've been pining to get into it, because they get devilishly hard music that should sound like heaven when played, and it's just so awesome. Plus, there are a lot of people who I respect that are in it. But to get in, one must audition for the opened spots.
I'm a flute player, and there is only one flute spot open. Two people already signed up to audition, and on the day of the audition, I jumped the gun and just asked to audition. The band director told me to go ahead and audition.
When I practiced outside the room where the band director was listening to the people trying out, I could play the require scales well enough, but when I actually got in, I screwed everything up. There was at least one wrong note in every scale. Stupid E-natural.
I durn hope I get in.
Actually, I mentioned that I've been playing the piano for a while, so Mr. Band Director looked pretty interested.
I'm probably going to get that xylophone/bells part, then. But I want the flute part.
Hopefully, he meant it when he said my scales sounded a bit better than the other two flutes trying out. I really want this part.
